Katie Price Films Scenes for Princess Andre's Reality Show Post-Ban

New Developments in The Princess Diaries

Katie Price, the former glamour model, has reportedly started filming scenes for the second series of her daughter Princess Andre's reality show. This marks a significant shift from the first season, which was launched on ITV last year and followed Princess, 18, as she began building a career in the public eye.

In the debut run of The Princess Diaries, Katie did not appear, despite being a key figure in Princess's life. The series featured Princess's father Peter Andre, stepmother Emily MacDonagh, and brother Junior. However, Katie was notably absent after previously revealing that she had been prevented from taking part at the request of Princess' management team.

As Princess continued filming for two further seasons alongside her brother Junior, it has been suggested that the situation has changed behind the scenes. A source told The Sun: "Katie has been filming some scenes for the new series of The Princess Diaries." They explained that her involvement would not be full-time but would still be visible to viewers.

The source added that Katie would appear on various video calls with her daughter, like on FaceTime, ensuring her presence in the upcoming episodes. This move represents a clear reversal from last year, where Katie was banned from appearing. The source said: "It's quite the turnaround as Katie was banned from appearing last time around, but she is a huge part of Princess's life and both Princess and Katie wanted her mum to be in the show."

The Daily Mail has contacted ITV, Princess Andre, Peter Andre, and Katie Price's representatives for comment. Series One of The Princess Diaries showed the teen at home with her family, including Peter and stepmother Emily, while Katie appeared only via a voice recording. The show proved so popular with viewers that it was confirmed to have picked up two more seasons.

It is thought that Peter and Emily have pulled out of the upcoming new season following backlash from Katie. Insiders told the Daily Mail that the influencer made the decision after discussions with her pop star father, 52, who agreed to step back, along with Emily, 36, to quieten the 'noise' surrounding his ex-wife Katie's absence from the show.

When the first series was released in August last year, Katie vented her fury over being snubbed from Princess' first-ever reality show during an angry outburst on her podcast. She was responding to claims that she was damaging her daughter's growing image due to her well-documented personal problems, including drug and alcohol addiction, drink-driving arrests, and multiple bankruptcies.

Katie said: "I want the best for Junior and Princess, and I would never get in the way of it. But what hurt my feelings, and it does upset me, is when your kids grow up, you go to their assemblies, you go to their Christmas things, you go to their awards, you go to their football matches or gymnastics, you're involved in everything they do."

She continued: "And knowing that, what my career has been, Princess is taking that same path, trying to do the same as what I've done, which I absolutely love and adore Princess. But I have not been allowed to go on any photo shoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. Why? Because I'm not allowed and I'm not welcome."

Katie added: "And it puts Princess in a situation because I don't want her to feel she has to choose between me and her work because I want her to do well. And I have said to Princess, just see how it feels for me because I should be there supporting you, I want to be there to support you like my family did. And I'm your mum, and especially as you're doing stuff that I did, I'm proud of you and want to be there."

The new series is expected to follow the young star abroad as she explores new business ventures, as well as at home, where she has a 'big beauty gig' lined up in Liverpool.
